
Marko Basic, born on August 17, 1979, in Kikinda, Serbia, is a prominent figure in the world of water polo, known for both his playing and coaching careers. With a career spanning multiple countries and years, Marko has contributed greatly to water polo at both national and international levels. He has represented the Serbian National Team 18 times, earning numerous accolades along the way, including a silver medal at the 2003 Daegu World Championship and a gold medal at the 1998 Championship in Bratislava. He also earned a bronze medal at the 1998 Junior World Championship in Kuwait. His participation in various prestigious international tournaments, such as the University Games and the Mediterranean Games, highlights his dedication and competitive spirit.
At the club level, Marko’s success is equally impressive. He was part of teams that won the LEN Cup with RN Sori, the Champions League with Budva, and national championships in multiple countries.
